1. What will a rising sea level effect?
- Most SC beaches will not exist as they do today.
- Many business and residential properties will be lost.
- A third of the Charleston peninsula will be lost.
- More frequent flooding of low-lying land

- Carbon pollution is warming the atmosphere.
- A warmer atmosphere causes water to warm then expands and take up more space.
- Glaciers and land ice are melting.

3. What can we do about it?
- Reduce the amount of carbon pollution from existing energy production.
- Increase investment and use of clean energy sources (wind, solar, biofuels, etc.).
- Send a message to elected officials to call for action.
- Spread awareness.
